Additional information Quantitation of platelet GMP140, GpIIb and GpIb on whole blood
The citrated whole blood is tested at the basal and TRAP (Thrombin Receptor Agonist Peptide) activated states. After incubation the immuno-labelling is performed by adding to the sample various reagents specific to the platelet glycoproteins to be quantified. The fluorescence intensity is measured on a flow cytometer after addition of a staining reagent. This intensity is directly proportional to the number of glycoproteins expressed on the platelet surface.
